Concrete Product Definitions

Acid Reactive Stains are a blend of naturally occurring mineral salts and acids that react with the existing chemicals in concrete to achieve a mottled, more "natural stone" look. Each installation is as unique as a fingerprint. Acid reactive stains can be used for exterior hardscapes, artificial rock formations, interior floors, walls, and statuary. Wide color variations, mottling and unevenness of the color is normal and usually desired. When a more uniformly colored concrete is desired this technique should not be used. 

Acid reactive stains do not protect concrete. We recommend a clear top coat to seal the surface from staining or freeze-thaw damage.

Not all concrete stain are created equal. Some only stain the surface but do not seal it. Colorseal is a decorative and protective coating that is applied to exterior or interior concrete surface to provide a more uniform color. It is a 2-for-1 product that protects from water penetration and subsequent freeze damage while giving you color for a decorative finish. Colorseal comes in solid and semi-transparent colors.

Cooler decking is a proprietary blend of marble dust aggregates and polymer concrete that provides a noticeably cooler feel to concrete pool decking. It can be a huge improvement during those hottest summer days especially in area with extreme heat like Florida, Texas, or Arizona. 

For cracks larger than 1/8th inch a urethane based sealant is applied to seal out water, transfer wheel load and accept thermal movement while maintaining adhesion to the sidewalls, a critical factor in the longevity of any crack or joint repair. We recommend sealing cracks and joints to keep water from undermining the base and destabilizing your concrete surface.

Epoxy coatings are a decorative and protective floor coating, typically applied to garage, workshop and other areas where impact and chemical exposure may occur.

If your concrete surface has standing water, you may need a drain to redirect the water to another area. CRS can re-level concrete surfaces, so it drains properly. Sometimes a drain is not needed. If you do need a drain, we offer several different styles. We will make recommendations on the type of drain depending on the amount of water and the use of the concrete surface.

"No Show" Waterproofing is a long term waterproofing system for stone, brick, rock or tile that does not have that "candy apple glaze" look. Unique small molecules allow for deep penetration on dense surfaces. Ideal for surfaces where an invisible barrier of water protection is needed.

Polymer concrete overlay is a proprietary blend of resin, hardeners and  concrete. Used as a repair product to provide a new wear surface, or a decorative medium for stamp, stencil, and textural patterns on existing  concrete surfaces. It can be applied at as little as 1/16th of an inch thickness where door clearances or drainage is at issue. It can be  colored using any decorative system for concrete.
